Global Family Trends

Family Data from Around the World

Family is a universal institution that plays a vital role in every culture and society. The health and strength of families in a country are key determinants of that nation’s overall well-being and prosperity. The Global Family Trends website provides a growing database of key family indicators. Through interactive maps, you can compare countries and see the correlations between different variables. You can also read or download a brief overview of a specific nation through the country profiles.

The Global Family Trends website is an initiative of the Institute of Marriage and Family Canada. The family data is based on indicators compiled for the forthcoming World Family Map project led by W. Bradford Wilcox of the National Marriage Project. More family indicators, countries and comparisons of trends over time will be added in the future.

This site is in the beta stage, so any feedback on how we can improve your experience using Global Family Trends is greatly appreciated. You can leave comments using the Contact page.
